About
Founded in 2006 by the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Western America and named in honor of Saint Sebastian (Dabovich)—the first American-born Orthodox priest—St. Sebastian Orthodox Press has become one of the most dynamic and influential Christian publishers on the West Coast and throughout the United States.
Today, Sebastian Press stands as one of the leading sources of Orthodox Christian literature in the English-speaking world. With over 200 carefully curated titles, our catalogue features many of the most respected contemporary Orthodox writers in English, as well as vibrant translations of significant works originally written in Serbian, Greek, and other languages.
Dedicated to excellence, Sebastian Press is committed to publishing high-quality works in theology, Church history, pastoral care, spirituality, Scripture, hagiography, philosophy, patristics, and iconography. In addition to traditional print editions, our titles are available digitally through Kindle, iBook, and other major platforms.
Through partnerships with respected publishers such as Interklima, Indiktos, Alexander Press, and the Monastery of Simonopetra, Sebastian Press has also become a primary distributor of Orthodox hagiographical literature.
We are especially honored to be authorized by the John Zizioulas Foundation to publish the writings of Metropolitan John of Pergamon, preserving and sharing the theological legacy of one of the most influential Orthodox thinkers of our time.
In response to the growing need for engaging Orthodox resources for all ages, Sebastian Press has expanded its offerings to include beautifully illustrated books for children, as well as materials for teens and families. Our catalogue now also includes educational videos and audio programs, icon and candle production, greeting cards, calendars, and canvas prints.
Our dedicated team strives to deepen the faith of Orthodox Christians across the globe, embracing the richness of various Orthodox traditions. Our authors include Saint Bishop Nicholai of Žiča, Saint Justin of Ćelije, Metropolitan John Zizioulas, Elder Aimilianos of Simonopetra, Stamatis Skliris, Abbot Vasileios Gondikakis, Bishop Atanasije Jevtić, Christos Yannaras, Nicholas Constas, George Kordis, Stephen Muse, Vasileios Thermos, Bishop Grigorije Durić, Mother Siluana Vlad, and many others.
Based in Los Angeles at the headquarters of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Sebastian Press provides direct customer service and readily connects readers with ministries for further resources and support.
With a growing international reach—including orders from across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia—Sebastian Press is making Orthodox theology and spiritual life more accessible than ever. As His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios once remarked,
Through the publications of Sebastian Press, not only America, but the entire English-speaking world is enriched with the theological wisdom of Orthodoxy—overcoming the limits of time and space.
